When i pulled my lifters our, they were all tight, Im guessing because they had pressure already. After rebuilding i noticed 2 things If i followed the ASH how to. I put the lifter body down, put the spring in, fill with oil Install the check valve assembly, the push the checkvalves down in order to squeeze them together Release the check valve and slowly let the spring do its job. Now they are total firm, no give. As hard as i try i cannot get it to seat in the lifter. On a youtube video i watched, the guy turned the bucket upsidedown with the checkvalve in to drain all the oil back out which made it squishy and 1000x's easier to install into the lifter. I chose the middle ground. Filled with oil, then release few drops just so that i could compress it about a CM, this was enough for me to get it back into the lifter. Can i have some advice on if i chose the correct route? Id hate to rebuild this and have to do it all over. It was a pain getting the valve covers off with the EGR in and the motor in the car.
